You are kindly invited to the 14th Strategic Conference Value of Innovations:

Health as a Driver of Socio-Economic Development.

The conference will take place on 

Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Klub Cankarjev dom.

      

      

This year’s conference will highlight the importance of cross-sector collaboration in shaping a sustainable healthcare system, with a clear goal of contributing to the overall well-being of society.

      

The opening part of the conference will feature a lecture by Aleksander Zadel, PhD, clinical psychologist and director of the Institute for Personal Development C.A.R., who will speak about the challenges of cooperation among key actors in the healthcare ecosystem and the influence of socio-cultural factors on the development of society and its subsystems, including healthcare.

      

This will be followed by a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Petra Došenović Bonča, PhD, from the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, who will highlight the importance of cooperation between the economy and healthcare as a foundation for long-term successful and sustainable solutions.

      

The opening block will conclude with a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Branko Gabrovec, PhD, Director General of the National Institute of Public Health, on the importance of coordinated policies and joint action by all stakeholders in strengthening public health and promoting sustainable development of society as a whole.

      

This will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Dejan Verčič, PhD, featuring distinguished representatives from the healthcare and economy sectors:

  • Bojan Ivanc, CFA, CAIA, Chief Economist and Head of Analytics at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia,
  • Vlasta Mežek, MSc, Director General of the Accessibility and Economics Directorate at the Ministry of Health,
  • Assoc. Prof. Branko Gabrovec, PhD, Director General of the National Institute of Public Health,
  • Assoc. Prof. Petra Došenović Bonča, PhD, Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.

The panelists will discuss the importance of cooperation and the development of joint policies to strengthen health, which contribute to increased productivity, better economic outcomes, and greater social well-being.
